The challenge for the remaining Google executives will be to guide the inevitable continual change in an appropriate direction.
We have to remember that organizations are living entities. They are born, they grow, they fall ill, they [sometimes] recover, and many die. They have cultures. These cultures continually change; just like a person. So, its to be expected that as a highly successful company grows, it too will change.
Its rather romantic to believe that a huge corporation can be run the way it was during its “garage” period. That’s just not realistic.
